REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Last updated: September 2026

1. Scope

This policy applies primarily to commercially purchased face-to-face, online, blended and digital training.

Funded programmes may have separate programme-specific agreements and funding requirements.

2. 14-Day Statutory Cancellation Period

Consumers purchasing training online, by telephone or through another distance-selling method will normally have a statutory 14-day cancellation period.

A learner wishing to exercise a statutory cancellation right must clearly tell Cedars that they wish to cancel.

3. Face-to-Face or Blended Training Beginning Within 14 Days

Where a learner asks Cedars to begin providing a service during the statutory cancellation period, Cedars may obtain an express request for early commencement.

If the learner subsequently exercises a valid statutory cancellation right before the service has been completed, Cedars may, where permitted by law and the applicable requirements have been satisfied, deduct or charge an amount proportionate to the service already supplied.

Where the service has been fully performed during the cancellation period following the required express request and acknowledgement, the cancellation right may end in accordance with applicable consumer law.

4. Online Courses and Immediate Digital Content

Where a learner requests immediate access to digital course content during the statutory cancellation period, Cedars will obtain the express consent and acknowledgement required by law before supply begins.

Where the applicable requirements have been satisfied, the learner may lose the statutory right to cancel the digital-content contract once supply begins.

This does not affect statutory rights where digital content is faulty, not as described or otherwise does not conform to consumer law.

5. Cancellation After Training Has Started

Once applicable statutory cancellation rights have expired, a learner does not automatically become entitled to a refund because they decide not to continue or because their personal circumstances change.

Examples may include changes to employment or working hours, holidays, childcare, travel arrangements or no longer wishing to complete the course.

However, Cedars will apply cancellation provisions fairly.

Any amount retained or charged will take account, where relevant, of training already delivered, digital materials/access already supplied, reasonable costs already incurred and genuine losses directly arising from the cancellation.

Cedars will not impose a disproportionate cancellation charge.

6. Transfers and Deferrals

Where appropriate, Cedars may allow remaining training to be transferred or deferred to another available course date.

This is subject to:

  • availability;

  • course validity;

  • learner progress;

  • accreditation or assessment requirements;

  • the course continuing to be offered; and

  • any reasonable additional costs.

Any transfer fee will be communicated before the learner agrees to transfer.

7. Short Courses and Non-Attendance

Failure to attend a booked course does not automatically create a right to a refund.

Where sufficient notice is provided, Cedars may consider transferring the booking to another date subject to availability and reasonable costs.

8. Multi-Session Courses

For programmes consisting of several sessions, cancellation after commencement will be considered according to statutory rights, the proportion of training already provided, applicable course costs and the circumstances of the cancellation.

Where appropriate, Cedars may offer deferral of remaining sessions instead of cancellation.

9. Case Studies, Assessment and Non-Completion

Failure to complete case studies, assessments, assignments or other mandatory requirements does not automatically create a right to a refund.

Where further tuition or reassessment is required, reasonable additional charges may apply.

10. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Cedars

Where Cedars reschedules training, an alternative date will normally be offered.

Where Cedars cancels commercially purchased training completely and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, the learner will receive an appropriate refund for the training not supplied.

11. How to Request Cancellation or Transfer

Requests should be made in writing to:

hello@cedarstrainingacademy.co.uk

Please provide your name, course and booking details.

12. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this Refund & Cancellation Policy excludes or limits any statutory right or remedy available to a consumer.
