Programme Overview:
The Level 2 Beauty Therapist apprenticeship prepares apprentices to work as professional beauty therapists within salons, spas, cruise ships and high-end treatment environments.
This apprenticeship is aligned to the Beauty Therapist Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard and develops the practical skills, technical knowledge and professional behaviours required to operate successfully in the beauty industry.
Beauty Therapists deliver essential face and body treatments while maintaining high standards of hygiene, client care, professionalism and commercial awareness.

Yes. Levy and non-levy employer funding is available. Employers can use apprenticeship funding to cover the cost of training and assessment, subject to eligibility.

The programme is delivered remotely through a blend of live online sessions, structured learning activities, workplace application, and regular support from an experienced tutor.
Delivery includes:

• One-to-one progress reviews and coachingApprentices must complete their required off-the-job training hours in line with apprenticeship funding requirements.
Employers must provide protected time during working hours for apprentices to complete their off-the-job training.

Before entering the End-Point Assessment stage, apprentices must:
· Achieve Level 1 English and Maths (if required)
· Attempt Level 2 English and Maths (if required)
Achieve the mandated diploma – Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Professional – Beauty Therapist
Complete a minimum of 326 hours Off-the-Job Training
Complete their on-programme portfolio
· Be confirmed as occupationally competent by their employer

The EPA is carried out by an independent End-Point Assessment Organisation and typically includes:
Practical observation of treatments
Knowledge test
Successful completion leads to achievement of the full apprenticeship standard.

Yes. In addition to achieving the full Level 2 Beauty Therapist apprenticeship standard, apprentices benefit from additional professional development opportunities designed to enhance credibility and workplace readiness.
Apprentices are supported to access student membership with the British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology (British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology (BABTAC)), helping them demonstrate professionalism, stay informed about industry standards and begin building their professional profile within the beauty sector.
They also complete an independently CPD-accredited Health and Safety course aligned with current UK legislation. This strengthens understanding of safe working practices, infection control, risk awareness and salon compliance requirements.
