The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Creating a Business Start Up is built for anyone who wants to move a business idea forward with real, practical knowledge behind it. You will work through the initial steps of setting up a business, explore marketing, legal and financial considerations, and build genuine self awareness of your own strengths as a business owner.

What you will learn
You will learn how to generate and evaluate business start up ideas, understand different types of business ownership, and identify the resources and costs a new business needs. The course covers market research and SWOT analysis, branding and promotional strategy, and the legal, tax and financial responsibilities that come with running a business. You will build cash flow forecasts and payment templates, write and evaluate a full business plan, and develop contingency planning to help your business handle setbacks.

You will build a portfolio of evidence that includes written assignments, business planning documentation, marketing materials and financial planning work. A qualified assessor reviews your work and gives feedback within 7 days of submission, with internal quality assurance keeping every decision valid, reliable and consistent. Work is graded achieved or not yet achieved rather than by exam, so you progress through an agreed submission schedule rather than sitting a test.

This certificate leads well into further study such as the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Business Administration, the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Customer Service, or the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading, with Level 3 business, administration or enterprise qualifications as a natural next step.
