What you will learn

The course looks at equality and diversity from three angles. In society, you will cover the meaning of equality and diversity, protected characteristics, stereotyping and prejudice, and both direct and indirect discrimination. In the community, you will explore the value of diversity, types of inequality, threats to inclusion, and the support services available. In the workplace, you will look at equality in recruitment, pay and promotion, the benefits of a diverse workforce, workplace policies and monitoring, and the legal, economic and social consequences of getting it wrong.

Duration and study format

How you are assessed

You will build a portfolio of written evidence, including case study and scenario analysis and reflective tasks, against each unit's learning outcomes. A qualified assessor reviews your work and gives feedback within 7 days of submission, with internal quality assurance keeping every decision fair and consistent. Work is graded achieved or not yet achieved, so there is no exam, just steady progress through an agreed submission schedule.
