The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Retail Operations introduces you to how retail businesses actually work, from the sales floor to the back office. You will build knowledge of customer service, the retail selling process, health and safety, consumer law and how individuals and teams contribute to a store's performance.
It is ideal if you are new to retail, already working in the sector and want a qualification behind your experience, or preparing to apply for entry level retail roles. There is no work placement required, everything is knowledge based and studied online.

You will build a portfolio of written evidence against each unit's learning outcomes. A qualified assessor reviews your work and gives feedback within 7 days of submission, with internal quality assurance keeping every decision fair and consistent. Work is graded achieved or not yet achieved, so there is no exam to sit, just steady progress against an agreed submission schedule.

This certificate leads naturally into further study such as the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Team Leading, the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Customer Service, or a Level 2 Certificate or Diploma in Retail Skills, with the Level 3 Certificate in Retail Knowledge as a next step further down the line.
