The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent builds essential knowledge for anyone working in a role with a duty of care towards children, young people or vulnerable adults. You will explore the core principles of safeguarding, the Prevent Duty and the risks of radicalisation and extremism, and how to recognise and respond to different forms of abuse and harm.
The course also covers online safety, a growing safeguarding risk across education, care and community settings, and looks at how national and local safeguarding systems work together to protect both individuals and the professionals responding to concerns. It is a knowledge only qualification, so there is no work placement required.

What you will learn

How you are assessed
You will build a portfolio of written evidence against each unit's learning outcomes. A qualified assessor reviews your work and gives feedback within 7 days of submission, with internal quality assurance keeping every decision fair and consistent. Work is graded achieved or not yet achieved, so there is no exam, just steady progress against an agreed submission schedule.
