Deep tissue massage is an accredited short course, suitable for qualified massage therapists looking to advance their skills and CPD points. This one-day intensive course will give you everything you need to progress in your career and add to your skill set.

Hot Stone Massage

Course pre-requisite: Swedish Body Massage

This Diploma in Hot Stone Massage is a must for all massage therapists who want to extend their skills, offer clients a wonderfully relaxing, effective and deep massage whilst preventing tiring and injury to themselves. The ancient healing of the hot stone massage has been used for thousands of years worldwide by healers, the Tibetan monks and the American Indians to name a few.

It involves the application of heated basalt stones of varying sizes to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warm. The direct heat relaxes the muscles, allowing manipulation of a greater intensity than regular massage. Some say one stroke of a stone is equivalent to eight of the hand and many clients that try it never go back to traditional massage.

Following the course you will:

  • Be qualified to perform and charge for hot stone massage

  • Gain professional insurance and membership with FHT

  • Offer client's a wider range of treatments

On successful completion of the course Candidates will receive a certificate which is accredited with the FHT.

You will need a kit at home to perform your case studies,  we can recommend suppliers to you. All materials are supplied during training.

This FHT Diploma in Indian Head Massage is aimed at massage therapists who want to extend their skills as a complementary therapist and offer clients more variety. High levels of stress and worry, busy schedules and poor posture can put unnatural pressure and strain on the body, if untreated this stored tension in upper body can lead to an array of physical and emotional conditions.

Indian Head Massage has been an important part of Indian life for over four thousand years, since its impact on the western world thousands have discovered and experienced its healing properties. Many now regularly receive Indian Head Massage either at home or increasingly within the workplace to manage, treat and release various physical and psychological symptoms of stress.

The neck, shoulders, back, face and scalp are massaged to release tension and pressure using a variety of traditional strokes and pressure point techniques. Treatment can be given dry without oils and fully clothes however it is more beneficial with the use of oils. Once finished this massage will give you a feeling of calm and relaxation.

Following the course you will:

Candidates are required to complete and write up case studies at home ( 3 people x 2 treatments) on a range of clients to meet the FHT standards. Case studies will need to be submitted within a time frame following the course.

Qualification Attained

On successful completion of the course and Case Studies Candidates will receive a FHT Diploma in Indian Head Massage.
